Fajita Buffet and a Concert!

I'm performing at The Winchelsea in Winchester, ON on Saturday night. Things get underway at 6:00 PM with a fajita buffet. Sounds Tasty! 

Then on Sunday afternoon ( 2:00 PM) I'll be performing a Farm Concert in Russell, ON .  $15  at the door (kids are free so bring the whole family).

Winchelsea Events will be hosting a Community Pub Night on Saturday, November 8th featuring Tom Savage.  Tom is taking his show on the road, and this time it is he alone, acoustic guitar in hand, bare-bones and stripped down. His accompaniment : the space around him and the silence he allows with each rest in the music. An interesting Friday night

This past Friday, as we were preparing to depart for our show at the Elmdale House Tavern in Ottawa, we suddenly ran into some difficulties. We had just finished loading Joey's drums into the van, when I walked around front , and saw green fluid all over the driveway. I said to Geoff, " This isn't from your car, is it ?,"to which he replied, "No, it can't be...oh wait...it is."

It turned out that the clamp holding the hose on the rad had broken off, and all that precious coolant went drifting down the driveway. Thankfully, Joe's brother-in-law Morgan, was there to help out. He drove us over to Canadian Tire to get a new clamp in his weird yellow VW car ( that was really cool). He also put the new clamp on for us. Thanks Morgan!

By this time, it was about 6:45, and the show was to start at 9:00 P.M. So time was a little tight. So we went and grabbed some fast food and hit the highway. We had just past the division street exit( for all you Kingstonians ) when we hear someone madly honking their horn at us. It turned out, that in all of the excitement over the rad leaking, Geoff had forgotten to lock the rooftop carrier( which Joey's drums were being transported in). Another sigh of relief on that one.


So, we make pretty good time, and get to the gig by 8:30 P.M., and start to set up. The owner of the bar comes up to Geoff and Joe while they're setting up, and says to them, ' So, you guys need you're own door person tonight(to collect the cover charge).' Now , this is not unheard of, but usually the venue will make some mention of it before the gig. It turns out, they had just forgotten to send me their standard policy email. But, after what we had just gone through, it was kind of like icing on the cake.

Fortunately, my friend Nick was at the show, so I enlisted him and his friends to work the door.Thanks Nick, Erika, and Brenda. You did a great job!

After all was said and done, it turned out to be a great time. The Elmdale House has a nice retro feel to it. Cool place to play.
