I'm a little bit late getting this one posted this week. My daughter has been home sick, and occupying my recording space, which is my living room. Anyway, I had about 40 minutes this aft to record the song. Of course, I ran into some technical difficulties, so it turned out I only had time for one take. Didn't turn out too bad though.
The song is called "Something To Sell", and it's just me and the dobro on this one. Enjoy!
everyone's got something to sell
i count myself amongst everybody
you might say were all going to hell
but i think everyone needs a little money
you sell hope
they sell fear
you sell massey ferguson
they sell john deere
you sell grapes
i'll buy the wine
and the idea that everything is gonna be just fine
everybody's got something to sell
i count myself amongst everybody
you may say were all going to hell
but i think everyone needs a little money
you sell truth
they sell lies
you sell peace
they sell battle cries
you sell space
i'll buy the time
and the idea that everything is gonna be just fine
everybody's got something to sell
i count myself amongst everybody
you may say were all going to hell
but i think everyone needs a little money
you sell sun
they sell rain
you sell joy
they sell pain
you sell cars
they sell trains
you sell your heart
they sell your brains
you sell weed
they sell cocaine
they sell loss
you sell gain
you sell the end
and i'll get in line
to tell everyone everything is gonna be just fine
...real down-home..love the contrast of the lyrics..tons of space to develop that melody line...you sounded a little unsure as to where you were going vocally but it has a certain charm..a keeper i say..
ReplyDeleteI think I probably was a little unsure. I only had a chance to do the one take.
